Lip Filler
The lips are a special area that completes the face, contributing to the perception of youth and beauty.
As we age, lip volume decreases, and lip definition fades. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are a popular and effective method to restore volume to the lips.
Lip fillers can also be used for reshaping asymmetrical lips, balancing the upper and lower lips, or as per the patient’s request.
Before Lip Filler:
The lips are numbed with a local anesthetic cream for 15-20 minutes.
After numbness sets in, filler is applied using a needle or cannula. The anesthetic content in the filler increases numbness during the procedure.
After Lip Filler:
A numbing sensation will persist for up to 2 hours after the procedure. Avoid consuming hot drinks on the treatment day to prevent burns or swelling. Bruising may occur in the treated area.
Swelling will peak on the second day and start to subside within 1-2 weeks. For reducing swelling, ice applications for 5 minutes, 2-3 times a day, are recommended during the first 2 days.
Hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers last 8-12 months. For thin lips, achieving the desired result may require two sessions spaced 3 months apart.
Lip fillers should not be done in:
Pregnant or breastfeeding women
Those with allergies to filler ingredients
People with active cold sores or lip infections
