Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are a popular and effective method to restore volume to the lips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lip fillers can also be used for reshaping asymmetrical lips, balancing the upper and lower lips, or as per the patient&#8217;s request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before Lip Filler:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lips are numbed with a local anesthetic cream for 15-20 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After numbness sets in, filler is applied using a needle or cannula. The anesthetic content in the filler increases numbness during the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">After Lip Filler: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A numbing sensation will persist for up to 2 hours after the procedure. Avoid consuming hot drinks on the treatment day to prevent burns or swelling. Bruising may occur in the treated area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Swelling will peak on the second day and start to subside within 1-2 weeks. For reducing swelling, ice applications for 5 minutes, 2-3 times a day, are recommended during the first 2 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers last 8-12 months. For thin lips, achieving the desired result may require two sessions spaced 3 months apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lip fillers should not be done in:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pregnant or breastfeeding women<br>Those with allergies to filler ingredients<br>People with active cold sores or lip infections<\/p>\n\n\n<style>.kb-image3029_ad5b9d-29
