What is Psoriasis?
Psoriasis (psoriasis) is a skin disease characterized by gray-white, pearl-colored dandruff and flaking on pink-reddish light bumps that are separated from the healthy skin by sharp borders. It is called psoriasis due to the pearl-coloured flaking on it. Psoriasis is frequently seen in 1-3 percent of the population. It affects men and women equally frequently. Although it usually starts in the 20s and 30s, it can start at any age. The form that starts before the age of 40 is called early onset, while the form that starts after the age of 40 is called late onset. In psoriasis, the skin renewal cycle is greatly accelerated. Skin layers, which should completely renew themselves in 28 days on average, renew themselves in a rapid cycle in a few days in psoriasis patients. Due to this rapid cycle, we see rashes in the form of red, fluffy white dandruff rather than the normal skin appearance. While psoriasis progresses with chronic attacks, it may sometimes increase and sometimes decrease. The disease may not occur after an attack or may recur frequently. The frequency of attacks is unpredictable and may vary from person to person.
