Why Does Mole Form?
Moles form as a result of the abnormal placement of cells called melanocytes under the skin, which give our skin its color. It is thought that the most important factor in the formation of moles is genetics. It is more likely to be seen in people who are light-colored, have colored eyes, are prone to freckles, and burn easily in the sun.

Moles; It is divided into two: congenital or acquired.

Congenital moles; These are moles that are present at birth or rarely appear within the first two years. Moles less than 2 centimeters in diameter are considered to have no risk of cancer, but larger moles have a low risk and require follow-up.
Can I have a mole removed?
Moles can be removed for cosmetic purposes due to suspicion of cancer or upon patient request.
Is Removing Moles Dangerous?
There is no harm in removing moles. Unfortunately, there is a misconception among the public that if a mole is removed, it will get worse. It does not spread or turn worse when the mole is removed. Even if a malignant mole is completely removed, treatment can be achieved.

Will There Be Any Scars After Mole Removal?
We can remove moles surgically or with laser. In both methods, even a small scar may be left. However, with the laser technologies used today, fewer scars remain after mole removal compared to surgery.
How to Get a Mole?
Moles can be removed surgically or with laser. Surgical method should be preferred for the removal of suspicious or cancerous moles, pigmented (colored) moles that may have a risk of cancer in the future. Moles that are benign and do not pose a risk of cancer in the future can be removed by laser. The physician decides the method of mole removal based on the results of dermatoscopic examination or biopsy, if any. The preferred method may vary depending on the type of mole.
